The Last Airbender 3D (Blu-ray 3D Blu-ray)

Recently purchased my 3D flatscreen & have been able to collect and watch seven 3D movies. Am impressed! As excited as I was with my first color TV. The movies are spectacular in 3D, and a couple surpass their theatrical presentations. However, my entusiasm has been tempered with the recent release of The Last Airbender. Although the reviews for the movie havn't been that great, I expected to enjoy the special effects in 3D. Wrong! There is depth perception in some scenes, but that's it. Can be watched without glasses with little or no distortion. Is this the future of 3D blu ray, with studios attempting to cash in with movies not suited for the format in order to provide an impressive array of software? Hope not. I"m willing to wait a month or six for the next 3D release, as long as it's as good as the early ones.

I know nothing of this series, books, cartoon or whatever else. The only reason I got this movie is because I own a 3D TV and this is one of the very few movies released in 3D this far. Watching this, I enjoyed the story line, the concept seemed very interesting to me. There was a lot of action and what was in 3D looked amazing. I just wish this movie was tailored more towards the 3D effect. For example, nothing really flew out of the screen at you or jumped out much. Which this movie seemed perfect for with Fire Benders throwing fire balls at each other, or the Ocean being controlled by the Air Bender... etc. I would recommend buying the blu-ray version, but if you're like me you can appreciate the 3D version because it's something else besides another Disney/Pixar in 3D. If more titles were released in 3D, I doubt I would of bought this.

Crayola 3D sidewalk chalk was WAY better than the 3D for Last Airbender. This was THE WORST 3D we have seen yet.
